Breaking News! The United States people engaged in another media tug-of-war between relative important information and thumb-sucking attention diverting "news." Addressing the United States national government begins with addressing the people. A little more than 55% of eligible voters participated in the 2008 national election; around 40% of Americans are federal employees so it's safe to assume they participated so around 15% of general Americans voted last major election. Our Government is a) not being used to it's potential and b) it's being monopolized by the people in government themselves. We CANNOT continue to let the people not just in D.C., but in all branches of the government continue to let those already running and working the system to dominate it's ability to benefit society as a whole. Now I'm not saying it's all just corruption and bribing, but also out nonchalant attitude towards the idea. Everyone just uses the concept of "corruption" together with politics as a crutch to remain ignorant. The media outlets do way more harm than good from improperly polled stats to bogus hoax stories on Facebook people remain more informed of the most recent viral series than pressing matters being overshadowed. I personally believe that Obamacare will allow a large portion of Americans who, without it, would not be able to and that there are a large number of government programs and functions that do benefit us. It is like I said earlier though, we are not taking use of it to it's full capability. The younger generation and older one alike to assemble, educate, and participate as Americans to continue our amazing legacy.
